Skye View Care Home Closure

Following the notice of liquidation, I am deeply concerned by the emergency closure of Skye View Care Home in Airdrie.

Care homes are a vital part of our community and the service they provide is invaluable to my constituents, so I understand the concern that will be raised following this announcement.

I understand that all those impacted will be trying to ensure that residents are able to receive alternative, dementia registered, care elsewhere.

Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents and staff is my priority, and I will continue to offer my full support during this process while the Council looks for alternative options of care for residents.

I want to reassure residents, their families, friends and Skye View staff, that I am engaging in discussions with North Lanarkshire Council as well as North Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership. I will continue to work closely with the relevant bodies to ensure that alternative arrangements are found as soon as possible and all options available are utilised.
